Life sometimes hangs by a slender thread.
Viesia is 12 years old and scared, caught in a web of fantastical imaginings. She is a contemporary Persephone, lured by the Greek god Hades, into the underworld. Her mother June, like the grieving earth goddess Demeter, struggles to find safety for her daughter.
